TSA PreCheck Adds Aer Lingus, Air New Zealand, Ethiopian and Saudia

The United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced today the further enhancement of its TSA PreCheck initiative by welcoming Aer Lingus, Air New Zealand, Ethiopian Airlines, and Saudia. The program now includes close to 100 international air carriers worldwide.

TSA PreCheck program offers a fast-tracked screening process for trusted travelers, providing a smooth and secure experience at over 200 airports across the United States and one international Preclearance airport in Nassau, Bahamas. Passengers enrolled in TSA PreCheck can breeze through security checkpoints without having to remove their shoes, belts, light jackets, laptops, 3-1-1 liquids, or food items from their carry-on bags. The majority of TSA PreCheck passengers, approximately 99%, experience wait times of less than 10 minutes in specially designated lanes at airports throughout the country.

TSA PreCheck can be accessed by qualified passengers when leaving from a designated airport or when transferring to domestic flights after coming back to the US from an international airport. US citizens, USnationals, and US lawful permanent residents are eligible to apply for TSA PreCheck and have the option to choose an enrollment provider based on their preferences for cost, location, and extra perks. The enrollment fees differ depending on the provider.

Upon approval, travelers are issued a distinct Known Traveler Number (KTN) which, when included in their airline booking, grants them access to TSA PreCheck lanes. The majority of new applicants typically obtain their KTN within a span of three to five days.

Airline passengers who are enrolled in TSA PreCheck must ensure that their boarding pass displays the TSA PreCheck indicator (such as TSA PRECHK or TSA Pre✓) before they reach a TSA checkpoint, in order to verify their eligibility for TSA PreCheck screening.
